Two giant exoplanets discovered orbiting nearby Sun-like star HIP 104045

Astronomers discovered two new exoplanets orbiting a star HIP 104045. The star is 175 light years away and its mass and size are similar to the Sun. Both exoplanets are gas giants, smaller than Jupiter.

Exoplanets orbiting yellow star



The closer exoplanet to its star is HIP 104045 c. It orbits the star in a similar distance as the Earth orbits the sun and its year lasts 316 days. Astronomers describe it as a cold super-Neptune. Further along orbits another planet with half of Jupiter mass. Its year lasts 2315 days.
