Data from the US Department of Defense confirmed that an interstellar asteroid hit Earth back in 2014. That's three years before the first interstellar object Oumuamua was identified going through the solar system.
Yet an unnamed object displayed a fire show when going through our atmosphere over Papua - New Guinea. Its trajectory and speed suggest it must have come from outside the solar system. This was now confirmed by the Department of Defense, as their satellites saw the object as well.Mankind now knows of three interstellar objects that visited the solar system: Oumuamua asteroid, Borisov comet and the bolid that fell into the Pacific ocean.6/ “I had the pleasure of signing a memo with @ussfspoc’s Chief Scientist, Dr. Mozer, to confirm that a previously-detected interstellar object was indeed an interstellar object, a confirmation that assisted the broader astronomical community.” pic.twitter.com/PGlIOnCSrW
