Chemical analysis shows it is common for sun-like stars to consume their planets

Binary stars are born from the same material, so scientists expected, they should also have the same composition. However it is not the case, in 25 % of cases the stars showed different composition than their companion. According to a new study it could be caused by consuming a planet that got too close to its star.
